PoreGenic solves a crucial bottle-neck in research and pre-clinical drug development by its electrophysiological automated patch clamp systems (APC) for ion channel analysis on cellular networks. Currently, there are no APC test systems with high throughput and in-vivo like data quality available to pharma, CROs and academia.
For the first time, the PoreGenic approach will allow for parallel patch clamp of several cells in a network enabling new assay types without complex robotics. PoreGenic modified the manual technology for the parallel measurement of 16 cells in networks. PoreGenic already tested first lab prototypes.
As a spin-off from Rostock University PoreGenic started to develop on its proprietary technology in 2010 and was awarded for its chip-based APC approach by a € 3 mio. GO-Bio grant (BMBF). The founders will establish a GmbH in 2014 . Now, PoreGenics management team is searching for private capital of € 1.8 mio as side investment to a future BMBF grant .
